Mike McCown

Owner, Industrial Bolting Technologies, Inc.

Mike McCown is the owner of Industrial Bolting Technologies, Inc. that manufactures the TorsionX brand of hydraulic torque wrenches. He has been in the bolting industry since 1996. After graduating from WVU with an Industrial Engineering degree, he started LMM Industrial Sales, selling bolting equipment to mines in West Virginia and Kentucky. Eventually, due to difficulties in receiving necessary parts from his manufacturer, he decided to onshore his manufacturing to Tyler Mountain, WV in 2008. This marked the beginning of the TorsionX brand, which continues to be sold in over 40 countries.

Mike is currently on the board at The Charleston Area Alliance, Charleston Chamber of Commerce, BIDCO, World Affairs Council of WV and a member of the West Virginia District Export Council.
